When Adaptium was contacted, the corporate database with over 15 years of costing, customer, order, and manufacturing data was experiencing multiple failures. The company's infrastructure was unstable to the point that servers were being rebooted several times per day simply to reinstate lost connectivity and access. They needed emergency help as well as long-term stability.

Adaptium was recommended by a trusted colleague of the president of the company as he was losing confidence in the several consultants that were brought in to examine the issues. Adaptium was spoken highly of as a technology provider on which he could truly depend.

Results

After meeting with Adaptium, and with the high vote of confidence given by the referral, the president of the company entrusted us with the task of reviewing the technical work performed or suggested by the outside consultants.

The initial top priority was to prevent any loss of data from their damaged database. Adaptium took every precaution by making multiple versions of backups from all sources available. With that safety in place, we turned our attention to stabilizing their servers, network, and infrastructure to prevent this from occurring again. One server in particular was found to have been infected with over 200 instances of viruses and malware; certainly a disaster for any network.

Having discussed their existing structure and needs, Adaptium implemented Enterprise Linux servers for their network storage and mail servers. We upgraded an existing server for colocation in our data center to consolidate all their website needs and coordinated it to serve as a backup mail server as well. Finally, two Microsoft Windows servers were sanitized and set up to handle PDC (primary domain controller) and SAP services.

With their infrastructure now stable and secured, the company has not since experienced any network issues, outages, failures, or security breaches. Adaptium has relieved the president of the company from the technical headaches that were once commonplace. We are regarded as part of their team, and since 2003 Adaptium has maintained their infrastructure as if it were our own. As the company has grown and requirements have changed we have helped with technical decisions, assisted meetings as their technical representative, and been proactive in keeping up with their needs.
